Andrew and I constantly discuss the dreams we can remember. It’s really interesting to find out what another person’s point of view is on the dream images that you have. I did buy a dream dictionary too and referred to this for a while, however, most of the meanings are pretty self explanatory so it’s much more fun just to try and work out your own answers to what the dream was examining in your psyche. Sometimes we both use our dream material in our creative pursuits. Andrew has actually woken up to write down lyrics to a song that he heard in his dream (and no they weren’t the Beatles!!) I used to keep a dream diary for a while and I think I might start one again soon ….

As an actress I am always interested to see which ‘English’ actors manage to make it across the Big Pond. Amongst many who have managed to cross the pond successfully are Gary Oldman, Tim Roth, Jude Law (of course), Johnny Lee Miller and many more. Michelle Ryan, who rose to fame in England due to her part as Zoe Slater in Eastenders has recently landed the role as the new Bionic Woman in the US. Managing to obtain a role in a regular TV series in the US is no mean feat and must have been very exciting. Unfortunately, fame is a double edged sword and so far the critics have been very unkind to the series and to Michelle. However, it has raised her profile in the US and I’m sure she will go on to bigger and better things if the programme does get axed.

Well I’ve just arrived back from Washington DC with a ’summer’ cold. Methinks it had something to do with the ‘heatwave’ they were experiencing, the weather was in the 90’s and the constant change in temperature from the inside (air conditioned rooms) to the outside was definitely a factor. However, I took lots of medicine and still got to see the White House and the Pentagon. This was a thrill if you’ve only ever seen it in TV programmes such as ‘E Ring’ or ‘NCIS’. The drive into Washington was great from Arlington and I was interested to see The Washington Monument the central point of Washington DC which was designed by a French Designer, L’Enfant who was a mason and made sure that the monument was designed with lay lines/esoteric features in mind. Around it’s base is a pentacle and the streets of Washington all pan out from here. I didn’t have time to do the lottery near the monument … as I know that lay lines can be lucky, at least they were when not one but two people won the UK lottery jackpot after they bought a ticket near the clock tower in Crouch End … hey ho maybe next time.

It seems that AFC have regained their form this season and are looking way better than any of the top four clubs in the premiership. Arsene Wenger has always bought very well and has great belief in young players that he can nurture. Let’s face it he found and nurtured Thierry Henri. Cesc Fabregas is another player with fantastic potential who is currently coming to the fore this season. Go Gunners Go.

Well I’m off to Washington DC on Monday and I’m really looking forward to it. I particularly am looking forward to seeing ‘The White House’ in person which I believe is much smaller in real life, (just like myself). Whilst we are there for a few days we plan to both sightsee and meet up with friends who came to our wedding. So it should be fun as well as hot .. the weather is forecast to be in the 80’s whilst we are there .. so summer clothes it is!

I was interested to read that Morinho has resigned from his position as Manager at Chelsea Football Club. It will be interesting to see who replaces him there in such a high profile demanding position especially as he is citing differences with Abramovitch the Club’s owner. It’s good news for the team that I support ‘Arsenal’, as anything that disrupts Chelsea’s play gives them an advantage. Well done Morinho!

Today I finally managed to make my appointment for the dentist. I’ve been putting this off for some time because I was just far too busy or just didn’t have the energy to get there. So my last visit was at least three years ago. I knew that ‘the ever invasive tartar’ was gripping on for dear life - having a party in my mouth and aggravating my gums. As the hygenist dug away at my gums and scraped at my teeth I knew that the tartar was not going to give up very easily. In fact it took quite some time and elbow grease before she had battered it into submission. Now, all my gums are aching and I feel weary. At least my teeth are strong and I don’t need to go back for another 6 months ….. whey hey.

It’s so nice to just go out and shop. Today whilst my hubby went to the local air show, Elizabeth and I went shopping. Alas our first attempt at shopping in Bath was greeted with loads of ‘closed’ signs so we threw caution to the wind and hit Freeport. Our credit cards were severely damaged but we came home feeling tremendously happy with ourselves. Oh the joy of shopping on a sunny day, you just cannot beat it.

Well I never thought that I would lose my husband to a computer game. But yes today, he has been completely obsessed with ‘Need for Speed Carbon’. The soundtrack, makes the living room sound like we are in a ’seaside pleasure complex’, and although he has tried to explain it to me, including the relevant keys to use, it is lost on me. Are there any women that like these kinda games out there? He tells me there are .. but I much prefer to watch a good movie!!

Where we are on the coast we had an absolute downpour yesterday and it felt like autumn was truly upon us. But as quickly as the rain came yesterday it has been replaced with beautiful sunshine today albeit with a brisk breeze.
Unfortunately, my husband’s dog Vera doesn’t like rain and gets incredibly nervous and fractous when she senses it coming. Therefore, we were awoken at 5am this morning with a shaking dog in need of comfort. So of course, we turned the light on, calmed her down and stroked her until she closed her eyes …… which was great until both Vera and my husband began snoring musically in unison as I lay there awake trying to reach my earplugs and the light without moving the dog!!
