Yes there are two things that I really hate in this world - and that is Cockroaches and mosquitos. It seems that we’ve got a small problem with an invasion of cockroaches at the moment and are heavily armed with ‘Raid’ in a battle to the death .. their death. I remember once, on holiday in the Canary Islands, a rather large cockroach flew into my hair and got caught. Of course, I panicked and so did it until somebody kindly pulled it free .. I’m relieved to say that the current ones cannot fly (thank God) but they do bring back that memory. Now mosquitos are another pet hate of mine, not only because I was bit by a stripey black and white one and contracted Dengue Fever, which hospitalised me at the time but also because of the horrible itchiness that they leave behind when they do bite you. I once had 30 bites on one calf which was not pleasant. Hey that’s why I hate mosquitoes and cockroaches …..
