Arsenal have launched a pilot scheme to try and eradicate ‘touting’ and are now trialling a scheme where Season Ticket Holders (Gold Members) can put their seat up for sale officially to other members of the club if they are unable to attend a fixture. Therefore, a season ticket holder can make his seat available for purchase to Silver/Red Members who purchase tickets on a match by match basis through this online scheme (rules and regs apply of course). This is a forward thinking scheme and I am sure comes as a direct result of supporter involvement. Unfortunately, it is generally people who are ‘non-members’ who purchase off touts or unofficial agencies as they often do not understand the maize of membership and rules of purchase which apply to them. Hey but at least Arsenal are trying to do something in the very difficult pursuit of tout busting.
