This year we’ve chosen to stay indoors and herald in 2008 with a good meal and a nice bottle of champers. We’re looking forward to cuddling on the sofa instead of partying in a pub or club and then struggling for an overpriced ride home.
I watched some buddhist monks heralding in the new year by ringing a 16th Century Bell 108 times … unfortunately, we do not have one of them at home so we will just have to make do with raising a glass.
I’m not one for New Year resolutions .. as I can never keep them. I prefer to reflect on the past year, clarify where I went right or wrong and then try and do better …
It was an interesting year, with lots of highs and lows. I got married on the Atlantic ocean in the US and had a wonderful day. I made my first trip to Mexico where we had our honeymoon and I’m sure we will go back. I decided to concentrate more seriously on writing and I’ve been to loads more auditions this year … the low part: only six months into our marriage my husband was diagnosed with colon cancer and now has to have preventative chemo. Hey but we will get there.
I’d like to wish everybody health, happiness and prosperity for the New Year. Have Fun.

Is it just me or is it true that every time I watch the news these days, it’s bad. It’s Christmas guys, and instead of joy and cheer we’re getting sad and depressing news. A child savaged and killed by a rottweiler, A 7 year old child riding a quad bike killed in a hit on collision on a quiet road in Essex. Then there was another youth stabbing in North London, where a 17 year old boy died in what seems was a gang fight. That is apart from the assassination of Benazir Bhutto which has left Pakistan on the verge of civil war and the world wondering what will happen next.
Where is all the cheerful news? Where are the uplifting stories of hope? Is only ‘bad’ news worthy? With 2008 fast approaching I hope things improve.

Today is Andrew, my husband’s 40th birthday, so here’s wishing him a VERY HAPPY HEALTHY 40th BIRTHDAY.
If you’ve been following either Andrew or my blog you will know he’s had some health issues of late and is now slowly recovering. It is an uphill climb but we’re doing it so his celebration this year alas has to be somewhat ‘tame’. However, we do intend to make up for it next year …

Sorry for the scarcity of posts of late, apart from the inevitable jetlag from flying back across the Atlantic I returned to the UK to find that our ISP was not working. In addition, I am still nursing my husband back to health which is taking up a lot of my time. We flew back from Maine just in time as now they not only have snow but another bad storm approaching. Alas here we just have rain, rain .. and more rain.
